Farming System for Nutrition through KVKS – a new venture

A one day Orientation Workshop on ‘Farming System for Nutrition (FSN) Approach’ was organised at KVK, Narayangaon, Pune on April 24, 2018. The programme highlighted the study findings under the LANSA programme undertaken by MSSRF in Wardha, Maharashtra.

About 12 KVKs (10 from Maharashtra and 2 KVKs from Gujarat) were identified to attend the programme. The major objectives of the workshop were to provide an orientation to KVK scientists on FSN, and to develop a plan for setting-up a FSN model in the KVK premises.

Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune encouraged the participating KVKs to include the development of the FSN model on campus and its dissemination. Dr. Nagargoje, former DG, MCAER, Pune and Dr. Shirke, Director, Agril Extension, MCAER also participated. 

Dr. R. Rukmani, Director, Food Security, Dr. R.V. Bhavani, Dr. G. Anuradha and Dr. Aliza Pradhan from MSSRF, Chennai oriented the KVK experts about Farming System for Nutrition approach. Dr. Prashant Shete, Head, KVK, Narayangaon coordinated the workshop.
