National Public Policy Consultation on Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition

PRE PRESS RELEASE. India, July 27, 2016: Dear Journalist/Editors/Bureau Chief,

The Coalition for Food and Nutrition Security, India (CFNS) and M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), the lead institution of the research programme consortium Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition in South Asia (LANSA), are conducting a National Public Policy Consultation on agriculture-nutrition linkages that can lead to Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security in India.

This national consultation will bring together key policymakers, development partners, and food and nutrition security experts to discuss how central and state governments and development partners can make agriculture more nutrition-sensitive to address the problem of high malnutrition and food insecurity in the country.

Dr Prakash Shetty, CEO, LANSA will talk about LANSA and Evidence from ongoing research in India followed by Prof. M S Swaminathan, Founder, MSSRF and Chair, The Coalition for Food and Nutrition Security (CFNS), will talk about Strategy for Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition.
