"Personal hygiene is important for good health"

Raising awareness about nutrition and diet diversity among school children from tribal villages in India through nutritional calendar.

The following is the transcription of the audio interview.

My name is Pranav. I am in 8th class at Z. P. High School, Susund village, Wardha. From the nutritional calendar provided by LANSA, MSSRF, I realised that personal hygiene is important for good health, so now I cut my nails regularly and wash and wear clean clothes every day. I like the calendar and it is useful for me. My sister and I drew pictures for the calendar. I was happy that my sister’s drawing was selected. From the calendar I learned the following:
• Increase consumption of green leafy vegetables.
• Before cooking wash vegetables.
• We wash our hands with soap and clean water- After using toilet, before cutting vegetables and cooking, before and after meals.
• As part of personal hygiene - Daily clean our tooth, we cuts nails and hair regularly, Washing and cleaning our cloths daily.
