Amna Akhtar

Amna Akhtar is a Research Officer at the Collective for Social Science Research. Amna completed her undergraduate degree from Institute of Business Administration Karachi and has previous experience in the local development and education sector.

Amna is LANSA’s Research Uptake Officer for Pakistan and is part of the Pakistan research team.

Azmat Budhani

Azmat Budhani is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and has worked on migration, poverty and bonded labour projects. Azmat has done his Masters in Sociology from Sindh University Jamshoro and his Bachelor in Agriculture Engineering from Sindh Agriculture University TandoJam

Haris Gazdar

Haris Gazdar is a Senior Researcher at the Collective for Social Science Research. He has contributed widely to social science research and social and economic policy debates in Pakistan and elsewhere. He has taught as well as conducted academic research in the UK, India, and Pakistan.

Besides his academic and consultancy assignments, he has worked on an honorary basis as adviser to research programmes, government and non-governmental organizations. Haris has an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.

Haris leads the Pakistan research team and is a member of the Consortium Steering Committee. 

Hussain Bux Mallah

Hussain Bux Mallah is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and has worked on social marginalization, urban issues, social protection, food security and nutrition projects. Hussain has done his Masters in Social Science from University of Sindh and Bachelor in Agricultural Engineering from Sindh Agriculture University TandoJam.

Marium Ibrahim

Marium is a Research Assistant at the Collective for Social Science Research. Marium has a Bachelors in Psychology and Educational Studies from the Macalester College, USA, where she conducted an honours research project on the relationship between religion and well-being. She has also worked closely with professors on qualitative and quantitative research in the areas of disability, social identity and belongingness.

Natasha Ansari

Natasha Ansari is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and has previously worked with various development research organizations in Pakistan. She has also led an independent study on micro credit and development intervention models in Pakistan. Natasha graduated with a B.A with High Honours in Economics from Mount Holyoke College, U.S.

Noorulain Masood

Noorulain Masood is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and leads its Research to Action programme, an initiative committed to using research to influence policy making and political action. She has previously led Teach For Pakistan, a leadership development programme for young leaders in education, and a partner of the Teach For All network and worked at the World Bank Headquarters. Over the years, she has been involved in leadership building and community organizing trainings, primarily with the Leading Change Network. She was a Teaching Fellow in 2013 and 2015 for the Harvard Executive Education’s course on “Leadership, Organizing and Action: Leading Change”.

Noorulain is a graduate of the Masters in Public Administration/International Development at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar. 

Rashid Mehmood

Rashid Mehmood is a Research Officer at the Collective for Social Science Research and has worked on social protection, nutrition and, food security. Rashid has an MA in Economics from Hazara University, Mansehra and M.A.S in Economics from the Applied Economics Research Centre, University of Karachi, Pakistan.

Saba Aslam

Saba is a Research Assistant at the Collective for Social Science Research. Saba has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration with a background in economics and social entrepreneurship. She is interested in researching about health and education.

Sidra Mazhar

Sidra Mazhar is a Research Officer at the Collective for Social Science Research and has previously worked on disaster management, co-ordination and risk reduction in humanitarian aid sector.Her areas of interest are health and food security. Sidra has an MSc and BSc in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
