Amna Akhtar

Amna Akhtar is a Research Officer at the Collective for Social Science Research. Amna completed her undergraduate degree from Institute of Business Administration Karachi and has previous experience in the local development and education sector.

For LANSA

Amna is part of the research and research uptake team for LANSA Pakistan. She is also a part of the Research to Action programme, an RU initiative helping grassroots leaders use evidence to influence policy and political action. 

Azmat Budhani

Azmat Budhani is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and has worked on migration, poverty and bonded labour projects. Azmat has done his Masters in Sociology from Sindh University Jamshoro and his Bachelor in Agriculture Engineering from Sindh Agriculture University TandoJam

Haris Gazdar

Haris Gazdar is a Senior Researcher at the Collective for Social Science Research. He has contributed widely to social science research and policy debates in Pakistan and elsewhere, and has taught as well as conducted academic research in the UK, India, and Pakistan. Besides academic and consultancy assignments, Haris has worked as an honorary adviser to research programmes, government and non-governmental organizations. His current research interests include poverty, hunger and nutrition, and social protection. He is also interested in innovative methods for making social science research more democratic.  Haris has an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.

Haris leads the Pakistan research and uptake team and is a member of the Consortium Steering Committee. 

Hussain Bux Mallah

Hussain Bux Mallah is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and has worked on social marginalization, urban issues, social protection, food security and nutrition projects. Hussain has done his Masters in Social Science from University of Sindh and Bachelor in Agricultural Engineering from Sindh Agriculture University TandoJam.

Marium Ibrahim

Marium is a Research Assistant at the Collective for Social Science Research. Marium has a Bachelors in Psychology and Educational Studies from the Macalester College, USA, where she conducted an honours research project on the relationship between religion and well-being. She has also worked on qualitative and quantitative research in the areas of disability, social identity and belongingness.

Natasha Ansari

Natasha Ansari is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and has previously worked with various development research organizations in Pakistan. She has also led an independent study on micro credit and development intervention models in Pakistan. Natasha graduated with a B.A with High Honours in Economics from Mount Holyoke College, U.S.

Noorulain Masood

Noorulain Masood is a Research Associate at the Collective for Social Science Research and leads its Research to Action programme, an RU initiative committed to helping grassroots leaders use evidence to influence policy making and political action. She has previously led an education non-profit, taught leadership development at Harvard University, and worked at the World Bank Headquarters. She is Founder/CEO of Center for Social Innovation in Developing Countries, and a graduate of the Masters in Public Administration/International Development programme at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar.

Noor works closely with Haris to supervise LANSA's Research Uptake activities for Pakistan and is part of the Pakistan research team. 

Rashid Mehmood

Rashid Mehmood is a Research Officer at the Collective for Social Science Research and has worked on social protection, nutrition and, food security. Rashid has an MA in Economics from Hazara University, Mansehra and M.A.S in Economics from the Applied Economics Research Centre, University of Karachi, Pakistan.

Rashid is part of the Pakistan research team. He is also a part of the Research to Action programme, an RU initiative helping grassroots leaders use evidence to influence policy and political action. 

Saba Aslam

Saba is a Research Assistant at the Collective for Social Science Research. Saba has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration with a background in economics and social entrepreneurship. She is interested in researching about health and education.

Sidra Mazhar

Sidra Mazhar is a Research Officer at the Collective for Social Science Research and has previously worked on disaster management, co-ordination and risk reduction in humanitarian aid sector.Her areas of interest are health and food security. Sidra has an MSc and BSc in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
